You can easily fine-tune your website by editing the margins, padding or position of elements on your page.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Editing the margin of an element

Margins are used to create space around elements, outside of any defined borders. In Portfoliobox, you will be able to edit the margins of elements on your site e.g. a header, a logo, a border, a form, a button, etc. To edit the margins of an element:

  1. Right-click on the element you want to edit.
  2. Select Size, Margins & Position in the Context Menu.
  3. Use the sliders to edit the Margins of the element.

NB! For some elements, you will be able to edit all margins of the element: top, bottom, right & left. For others, only top and bottom — it depends of the type of elements you edit.

In the example above, the Margin Bottom of the header is set to 0.85em. This increases the space between the header and the sub-header.

Editing the padding of a section

Padding is used to generate space around an element's content, inside of any defined borders. In Portfoliobox, you will be able to edit the padding of sections and certain elements. To edit the padding of a section:

  1. Click on Edit Section in the upper right corner of the section.
  2. Select Size, Margins & Position in the Context Menu.
  3. Use the sliders to edit the Padding of the section.

In the example above, the Padding Bottom of the section is set to 19em. By increasing the bottom padding, the elements in the section have moved upwards.

Editing the position of an element

Position is used to horizontally align an element on your page. In Portfoliobox, you will be able to edit the position of certain elements:

  1. Right-click on the element you want to edit.

  2. Select Size, Margins & Position in the Context Menu.

  3. Select a position in the dropdown menu Position: Left, Center, Right.

In the example above, the position of the header is set to Left, while the position of the sub-hearder is set to Center.
